Meinong, (Chinese:美浓 区Meinong qū, Hakka: Mì -Nung KHI) is a district of Kaohsiung City in southern Taiwan. Most of the approximately 42,000 inhabitants of Meinong (2011 ) belong to the ethnic group of the Hakka. The more rural district is strongly influenced by the traditional culture of the Hakka and a popular destination for tourists.

Geography and climate

Meinong is located northeast of the city proper core Kaohsiung. History
