Meitner (crater on Venus)

Meitner is an impact crater on the planet Venus. With a diameter of 149 km, it is the third largest crater on Venus. The double crater situated in a flat volcanic plain is surrounded by bright on the radar image appears landslides of ejecta. The north-east passing through the level ridges are apparently older than the crater.

The designation by the nuclear physicist Lise Meitner was confirmed by the IAU in 1979.
