Meketre

Meketre was an ancient Egyptian high official of the late 11th dynasty and perhaps the early 12th Dynasty ( Middle Kingdom ).

He appears in a rock inscription, dated under Mentuhotep II, a simple " Siegler ". From this position, he is probably directly to the " Treasurer " - one of the highest offices of state - have been promoted. With this title he is mentioned several times in the Temple of Mentuhotep II. In his grave he also appears as the top asset managers across the country. His grave

The grave of Meketre at Thebes was found destroyed, but the few reliefs show that there once was splendidly decorated. A small chamber of the grave system was found intact and contained a set of wood models, artisans, ships, but also the home of Meketre show. These models are typical of burials of the Middle Kingdom. The models in the grave of Meketre are undoubtedly the best of its kind
