Melchow

Melchow [ mɛlço ː ] is a municipality in the south of the district Barnim. The town is located 40 km northeast of Berlin -Mitte, not far from the county town of Eberswalde. Melchow makes an inconspicuous impression, with cobbled streets, a baker, a newsagent, a church, a " Nature Park Station " (hourly each a train to Berlin and Eberswalde ) and a secluded cemetery.

Geography

In the environment, characterized by the gently rolling, wooded countryside of the Eberswalde glacial valley, are also some lakes, such as Samith and Schwärzesee.

Community structure

The community has two districts:

  • Schönholz
  • Melchow

The district Spechthausen belongs since 2006 to the city of Eberswalde, after the Spechthausener community representatives had seceded from the municipality Melchow. However, belongs to the municipality of the district of Melchow Schönholz. This is achieved by Melchow coming via the federal highway 2 towards Eberswalde. Approximately 6 kilometers behind Melchow turn right after Schönholz.

History

For the first time the city in 1324 was mentioned.

Culture and sights

The village smithy in the Eberswalde road was included in the country's list of historic monuments. In the list of monuments in Melchow and in the list of ground monuments in Melchow the cultural monuments are listed.

Sports

  • Melchow is a stage finish and start of a total of 416 km of 66 -Lakes Regional Park route through Brandenburg.
  • Equestrian Park Melchow, an approximately 7.5 -kilometer loop track designed terrain and obstacle course.
  • Melchow and Grüntal have a common soccer club: SV 1969 Melchow / Springvale eV

Traffic

The Melchow station is located on the Berlin- Szczecin railway. There is an hourly regional trains keep the East Germans Railway Company. The trains of the line RB 60 of the Transport Association Berlin -Brandenburg drive from Berlin- Lichtenberg station to Eberswalde and partially also depend Wriezen and Frankfurt ( Oder).

By Melchow the federal road runs 2 (Berlin- Stettin).
