Melissa Militano

Melissa Mary Militano - Warkmeister ( born April 26, 1955 in Rockville Centre, Long Iceland, New York) is a former American figure skater.

Militano could get as an individual runner in 1971 the junior title at the U.S. Championships. They showed the triple toe loop as one of the first skaters.

Furthermore, she appeared in pair skating with her brother Mark at. Together they collected from U.S. Championships 1973 title, as well as three silver medals ( 1970-1972 ) and one bronze (1969). At World Championships they always placed among the top ten. For seventh it was enough at the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo.

Militano occurred after the resignation of her brother to Johnny Johns. With him, she won two more titles at the national championships, as well as the positions six and eight at the World Championships.

Then toured with the Ice Capades Militano and now works as a trainer in Las Vegas.
