Melissa Sue Anderson

Melissa Sue Anderson ( born September 26, 1962 in Berkeley, California) is an American- Canadian actress. Her most famous role was that of Mary Ingalls in the television series Little House.

Life

Anderson showed as a young girl high intelligence, which meant that she could not take her high school graduation earlier than average. At the urging of a dance teacher who saw a promising talent in Anderson, her parents hired an agent for her daughter. Demand was high and after a few commercials and guest appearances (including 1973 in three girls and three boys) dedicated to Michael Landon for his series Little House. For the two episodes in which blinded the cuteness of her Mary Ingalls, Anderson was nominated for a 1978 Emmy Award.

After her departure from the show, the actress starred in many other shows and movies, which they, however, was unable to repeat the success of the small farm. In 1979 she won an Emmy Award for her role in Which Mother Is Mine? . In the same year she had a guest role in the series The Love Boat and was seen in 1981 in the horror film From eternity with Glenn Ford. In 2006, she took on a role in the television production 10.5 - Apocalypse.

Since 1990 Melissa Sue Anderson is married to the producer and screenwriter Michael Sloan, with whom she has two children. The family lives in Montreal since 2002 and since 2007 has Canadian citizenship.
