Meliton Balanchivadze

Meliton Antonovich Balantschiwadse (Georgian მელიტონ ბალანჩივაძე; born December 24 1862jul / January 5 1863greg in Banodscha ( Zchaltubski ). . † November 21, 1937 in Kutaisi ) was a Georgian composer and collector of folk songs.

Meliton Balantschiwadse studied composition with Nikolai A. Rimsky -Korsakov, and founded by the ( Russian ) October Revolution in Soviet Georgia various music schools. Balantschiwadse is the founder of the national Georgian romance and the Georgian opera " The Sneaky Daredshan " after the dramatic poem " The Sneaky Tamara " from Akakai Tsereteli created, 1897 (1912 Petersburg; 2nd version 1926 Moscow). He continued to write one cantata choruses revolution and created the sets of numerous Georgian folk songs.
