Melochord

The Melochord is an electronic musical instrument that can be viewed as an early form of the synthesizer. It was developed in 1947 by the German engineer Harald Bode and came in the studio for electronic music of the West German Radio in Cologne during the 1950s for use.

The Melochord was a monophonic instrument, it had a built-up tubes with tone generator and a circuit for shaping the envelope. The keyboard consisted of three octaves. Tuned the instrument was in a conventional equal tempered scale. The range was expanded by switches on seven octaves. The volume could be affected with a pedal.
