Memphis Suspension Railway

The monorail connects Memphis since 1982 the downtown Memphis with the amusement park on the island Mud Iceland. It is located under a pedestrian bridge over the Mississippi River.

The 518 meter-long monorail system is navigated by two railcars, which each have their own travel bar. Due to the small width of the bridge the encounter of the vehicles is possible only in the middle of the bridge. There is a passing place. In contrast to the similarly constructed the Wuppertal suspension railway system used in Memphis rubber wheels. In addition, it has, like the H-Bahn, but no driver is controlled by a central control station. The journey time is two minutes.
