Mentaiko

Mentaiko (明 太子Japanese ) is a typical part of many Japanese dishes. Especially the area around Fukuoka is known for. Mentaiko consists of the roe of Alaska pollack, which is prepared with red peppers. Mentaiko is often eaten with rice. It can also be mixed with cream, milk or margarine and used as a paste for bread or pasta sauce.
