Mentor
Mentor (Greek Μέντωρ ) is a character from Homer's epic Odyssey. In a figurative sense, a mentor is an older - wise and benevolent - adviser to a young man.
In Homer he is a friend of the hero Odysseus and protector of his son Telemachus. During the ten-year wanderings of Odysseus after the Trojan War, his well-meaning goddess Athena took the form from time to time mentor to watch over Telemachos and to give him advice.
