Mercer (consulting firm)

Mercer LLC is a consulting company in the field of personnel management. The company is one of the Marsh & McLennan Companies and has worldwide about 180 branches, five in Germany, four in Switzerland and one in Austria.

History

In 1945, William M. Mercer founded an eponymous consulting company social benefits ( employee benefits ) in Canada. This was bought in 1959 by Marsh & McLennan and merged with the in-house, founded in 1939, Department of Occupational social allowances. Only in 1975, the division was spun off as an independent company with the firm William M. Mercer, Inc., they remained wholly owned subsidiary of the newly formed holding company, in 1969 Marsh & McLennan Companies. In the following years the company grew, both through organic growth and through acquisitions, it developed into one of the largest consultations in their division. Some of the more popular purchases are Duncan C. Fraser & Co ( 1986), AS Hansen (1987) and KPMG Peat Marwick Compensation Consulting ( 1998).

In 2002, the company name (company) was changed to Mercer Human Resource Consulting, in 2007, finally in Mercer.

In Germany Mercer acquired Höfer end of 2007, pension -Management GmbH & Co. KG and expanded its market position in Germany further.
