Mercury Mariner

The Mercury Mariner is an SUV the car manufacturer Ford The model was introduced to the market in 2005 and is a sister model of the Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape, but has due to the positioning of the brand Mercury a more upscale amenities. The mechanism is identical to the Ford Escape, but the Mercury is only offered with automatic transmission. There are also stylistic differences, such as a two -tone interior color and the typical Mercury "waterfall" grille with emblem. The Mariner is Mercury's first SUV, which is based on a car, and arranges itself in the model range below the Mountaineer one.

First generation (2005-2007)

Hybrid

Since 2006, the Mariner Hybrid. The mechanism is similar to its sister model, the Ford Escape Hybrid. Both models are full hybrid versions, which means that they purely electric, only gasoline engine or both engines together can either be operated. President execution

On September 7, 2006 Ford delivered a special "President execution" of the Mercury Mariner Hybrid to former U.S. President Bill Clinton. The equipment includes:

  • Fold-out writing desks in the center console and the rear seats
  • DVD player at every seat
  • Refrigerator
  • Enlarged rear seat space

There are also a number of unpublished safety features in this vehicle.

Second generation (since 2008)

The 2008 -Mariner was presented at the South Florida International Auto Show on 6 October 2006 and should express a new orientation of the Mercury brand.

In model year 2008, the Mariner has been thoroughly revised, but continues to build on the Ford CD2 platform. The revisions to the body include a higher beltline, new doors and wheels, new headlights and taillights and a new tailgate. The interior has been improved with new seats, higher quality materials and better equipment details. The engine range remains unchanged, but the 3.0-liter Duratec V6 as far as revised, that it consumes 10% less fuel.

The end of 2010 the production of the Mariner ran out due to the setting of the Mercury brand.
