Mercury Mystique

The Mercury Mystique was a middle-class car, which was from 1994 to 2000 by Mercury, a brand of Ford Motor Company built. It was a luxurious model of the co- produced Ford Contour, which was based on the European Ford Mondeo.

The Mystique was, as the Contour, only as four-door notchback sedan available; the hatchback and the station wagon version of the Ford Mondeo were not offered in North America. As engine variants, a four -cylinder engine with 2000 cc and a 2500 cc big V6 engine was available; both engines are found in similar form in the Mondeo use.

After the first half of the production time, there was in the fall of 1997, a more extensive facelift, by the appearance of the Ford Mondeo has been aligned.

As the Contour was also the Mystique not a particularly successful model of the Ford group. Therefore, both models initially remained without successors. With the start of production of the American Ford Fusion 2005 Mystique with the Mercury Milan, a better-equipped sister model of the merger, a successor received.
