Merenberg

The market town Merenberg is a municipality in the district of Limburg -Weilburg in Hesse, Germany, on the southern edge of the Westerwald between the county town of Limburg an der Lahn and Weilburg.

Geography

Merenberg bordered to the north by the municipality of Menger churches, in the east on the community Lohnberg, to the south by the town of Weilburg, in the southwest on the community Beselich, and in the west on the community forest Brunn (all in Limburg- Weilburg ).

History

In Merenberg is the ancestral castle of the house Merenberg, a noble family of the 12th and 13th centuries.
