Sobekhotep V. reigned after the Royal Canon of Turin four years, eight months and 29 days. Maybe he was the son of Sobekhotep IV, who is called as a prince on an inscription in Wadi el- Hudi. His mother is then possibly Tjan, wife Sobekhoteps IV. Sobekhotep V., by the later king lists ( list of kings at Karnak ) apart, almost only known from scarabs. However, a remarkable object with his name is a statue of the ruler. This is a long time in Berlin. The inscriptions on the base broken away, so that it was not possible to assign them to any particular power. But the Egyptologist Kim Ryholt could do the part of a statue in Boston find that just heard about this statue and bears the name of the ruler, which the Berlin statue can be assigned to this ruler. The fragment in Boston dates from Kerma, where probably comes the statue.
