Merseyside

Merseyside [ mɜ zɪsaɪd ː ] is a metropolitan county in England. It was created by the local government reform in 1974 and is located in the north of England, on the River Mersey. Merseyside consists of the Metropolitan Boroughs Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.

1986, the county council ( county council) was abolished. Since then, the five Metropolitan Boroughs separate administrative units. Nevertheless, Merseyside continues to exist as an administrative unit and is a ceremonial county. Merseyside borders on Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Traditionally, the preposition "on" is used to denote something that is in Merseyside, instead use "in".
