Description

The Knotenblütige ice plant is an annual succulent plant that reaches the plant height 10-20 centimeters. Her figure is creeping up with rich ascending branches. The whole plant is overrun with reddish in the dry season. The fleshy leaves are occupied cylindric and with small papillae. The leaves are opposite, said upper alternate are arranged.

The blooms reach a diameter of up to 1.5 cm. The whitish to yellowish petals are shorter than the sepals. The flowering period extends from March to August.

Dissemination

The distribution area includes the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira and Southern Africa. As the site of salt marshes, fallow land and path sides are preferably near the coast.
