Meshulam Nahari

Meshulam Nahari (Hebrew מְשֻׁלַּם נָהַרי, born May 7, 1951 in Jerusalem, Israel) is an Israeli ministers, politicians and Knesset Shas the Charedim.

Life

Nahari studied at a yeshiva. After his military service, he received his semicha as a rabbi, and earned a BA from Michlelet Lifschitz (Hebrew מִכְלֶלֶת ליפשיץ - המִכְלָלָה האָקָדֶמִית הדָּתִית לחִנּוּךְ ) a religious dLehrerseminar in Jerusalem, Israel, named after its founder Meir Lifschitz Eliezer (Hebrew אליעזר מאיר ליפשיץ ) was named. After his graduation he became headmaster and also served as an advisor to the Vice - Minister of Education and was a member of the Ministry of Education Directorate, then he was senior director for the culture of Charedim in the ministry. After the 1999 elections he was first Knesset and served as Deputy Minister of Education of the Shas of 5 August 1999 to 28 February 2003, Ehud Barak and Ariel Sharon. He was reelected in the elections in 2003 and 2006 and was subsequently appointed Minister without Portfolio, who was responsible in the Ministry of Finance for education and welfare. After his appointment, he proposed a bill, according to which local authorities state should not support recognized ultra-Orthodox schools financially. This bill was a majority despite the opposition of then -Attorney General Menachem Masus and Minister of Education in July Tamir. In the 2009 elections, he stood on the fifth place in the election list of Shas and was re-elected.
