Mesoeconomics

The meso-economic interaction theory of economic policy can be attributed to the theories of the New Political Economy. It is part of economics and was founded by Hans- Rudolph Peters in the early 1970s.

" Meso " means "medium". The aim of the theory is the economic explanation of group behavior at a medium level of aggregation between policy-makers and stakeholders. The purely microeconomic analysis of the individual and the purely macro-economic view of all the group structures are criticized as inadequate. In particular, the assumptions of the Methodological individualism - and rational individual behavior of actors - are perceived as excessive restrictions. Irrational behavior is included as such in the theory.

The Mesoökonomie sees itself as an interdisciplinary and takes next to approaches of sociology and political science approaches bonds in the deregulation theory, the economic structure theory and microeconomic oriented New Political Economy.

From the business management, particularly on the Study of commerce, of the meso-economic approach has been taken up as appropriate for the analysis of Arteigenheiten of co-operation or composite groups of enterprises, in particular of trade, and as a viable theory approach for cooperative trade marketing.
