Mesology

Mesologie ( meso ancient Greek μέσος, in the middle ', center ' milieu ' and -logy ancient Greek λόγος lógos ' doctrine '; ' milieu teaching " or " Environmental Science ") is a formerly used term for the subject of ecology.

Historical

The term Mesologie was first introduced in 1860 by Louis -Adolphe Bertillon and should the doctrine of Environmental ratio selected by the three organisms, derived from the French "Science of mileux " ( Environmental Science ). Later he extended the term also towards sociology and environment influence.

Nowadays, the term is mainly used in French and Portuguese speaking countries. In German-speaking countries, the term ecology has ( coined in 1866 by Ernst Haeckel ) enforced.
