Messe (Nuremberg U-Bahn)

Metro Station Fair ( Abbreviation: ME) is the sixth Metro Station of the Nuremberg U- Bahn and was opened on 1 March 1972. It is 506 meters from Bauerfeind Underground Station and 709 meters from the Long Water North Metro Station. At the railway station towards long water followed by a parking and reversing facility. Until 1974 the name was Neuselsbrunn train station and to the change of timetable 1999/2000 Exhibition Centre. Named the Metro station, according to the exhibition halls of the Nuremberg trade fair.

Location

The station is located in the district of Nuremberg Neuselsbrunn above ground amid the petrol Bärnreuther Street. Both stairways lead to a footbridge that leads from the entrance of the fair until after Neuselsbrunn. The elevator leads from the platform also to the footbridge.

In the immediate vicinity of the station is the Nuremberg Trade Fair.

Building and Architecture

Construction work on the 90 -meter station construction began in 1967. In 1982, a passenger lift and a further staircase were retrofitted to the west.

Between December 1999 and February 2000, the station created in 1960's style with unverkleidetem exposed concrete has been renovated. Were retrofitted a toilet and sheltered seating for passengers. The entrance to the pedestrian bridge, just like the roof pillars painted gray, the ceiling and the exterior walls of the east are pastel- painted blue. In addition to the outer walls white panels and graphics are attached.

Lines

The station is serviced by the underground lines U1 and U11. The U11 here has its eastern terminus.
