Messier 38

Messier 38 (also known as NGC 1912) is one of the three open clusters (along with M36 and M37 ) in the winter constellation Auriga. His brightness is like 6.4, its angular extent 21 '.

In binoculars 10 × 50 it shows a cloud with a handful of single stars 9 - 10th Size, significant in a small telescope cross shape disappearing into stronger telescopes. In a 20-cm reflector telescope experienced observers already see 100-150 stars, the focus to the center and are partially arranged in rows.
