Meta Seinemeyer

Meta His Meyer ( born September 5, 1895 in Berlin, † August 19, 1929 in Dresden) was a German singer of classical music ( soprano).

Meta His Meyer was born on 5 September 1895 in Berlin, the daughter of Wilhelm His Kriminalkommissar Meyer and his wife Anna (born Aquarius). In the years 1909-1911 she attended the Girls Lyceum and the domestic science school in Berlin, and then - from 1911 to 1917 - she graduated from the Conservatory Stern'sche where Nicholas Rothmühl was her singing teacher. 1918 gave Meta Seinemeyer her debut in the title role of Offenbach's operetta La Belle Hélène at the Opera House in Berlin- Charlottenburg, the predecessor of today's Deutsche Oper Berlin. She was engaged until 1924 at the Charlottenburg Opera until she received a professorship at the Dresden State Opera, where she worked until her untimely death.

Meta Seinemeyer died on 19 August 1929 in Dresden on the leukemia. Just hours before her death - already lying on his death bed - she had married the conductor Frieder Weissmann. Meta Seinemeyer was buried in Stahnsdorfer West Cemetery in Berlin.
