Meta-knowledge describes the knowledge about our knowledge.

This includes information on the acquisition of knowledge, its origin, application and reliability. Further, meta-knowledge deals with the process of acquiring knowledge and their own cognitive abilities in learning and understanding. The importance, impact and scope of information, especially new scientific facts, will play in terms of our society a role.
