Metaphrase

A metaphrase (from Greek μετά " behind " and φράση " phrase, sentence, phrase" ) is a literal translation into another expression, which is converted into poetry & prose. A paraphrase is, however, an analogous transmission without literal text repetition.

Example:

" Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise. "

Metaphrase:

" Early to bed and early rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. "

Paraphrase:

" The early bird gets the worm. "
