Meteoritical Society

The Meteoritical Bulletin (English for meteoritic notice ) contains the publication and a brief description and classification of the world's meteorites found by the Meteoritical Society. It appears regularly in its journal Meteoritics & Planetary Science. Only the names are published as an official meteorite name.

Naming

For precise naming of meteorites to establish the rules of an international trade company. Thus, meteorites are named after their location ( city, river, etc.). In places where many meteorites are found, such as some areas in the Sahara desert, a sequential number is appended ( for example, NWA 3009 ). When meteorites found in Antarctica, the year and a sequence number is appended to the name.
