Métlaoui

Métlaoui is a Tunisian city in the province of Gafsa.

Population

Economy

History

Métlaoui was founded by the French after they landed in 1881 in Tunisia and soon found the phosphorus deposits.

In 2008, six-month strikes took place in the phosphate mine.
