Metta-Sutta

The Metta Sutta is a discourse (Sanskrit sutra ) of the Buddha on the quality ( Pali: metta, Sanskrit: maitri ). In Buddhist literature, the Sutta is assigned in the Pali Canon Khuddaka Nikaya (collection of short suttas ). It is included there in the Sutta - book Nipata. The Metta Sutta is often recited especially in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia.

A noted verse reads:

" As a mother her own son, your only child protects with her life, So you may wish to all living beings without barriers unfolding his mind! "
