Metzler Orgelbau

Metzler organ building is a Swiss organ building company based in Dietikon in the canton of Zurich.

History

The company was founded in Jenaz in the canton of Graubünden in 1890 by Jakob Metzler and relocated in 1900 to Felsberg. In 1924, the company went under the direction of Oscar and Albert Metzler over to the second generation and was first described in J. Metzler & Söhne and 1927 in Metzler & Cie. renamed. After 1931 a branch was opened in Dietikon, 1933, the company headquarters was moved there and moved into the present premises in the sequence. The site Felsberg was henceforth continued as a branch.

From 1949, the company stepped back under the name Metzler & Söhne. In 1954 the branch Felsberg was deleted. In 1968, the subsidiary organ building Felsberg Felsberg AG was founded in 1971 but sold it again and thus definitely abandoned the Metzler 's activities in Felsberg.

With the business outlet of Oskar Metzler senior, the company was founded in 1975 converted into a public limited company under the leadership of his two sons Oskar Metzler Jr. and Hans Ueli Metzler. Since 2006, the Metzler Organ Builders Ltd is wholly owned by Hans Ueli Metzler and his two sons Andrew and Mathias, who run the family business for four generations.
