Meusebach

Meusebach is a municipality in the south of the Saale- wood - country circuit and part of the joint management hills / valleys. The place Meusebach has the nickname " village without sparrows " or " village without sparrows ."

History

Documented, the town was first mentioned on December 8, 1271.

Meusebach possessed distant from the present site in the Middle Ages a fortified spare living space in Rundwallhof a church, 3 km to the southeast. The desert church was surrounded by a rampart and a ditch. Within the rampart can still see vestiges present, also a source version is still recognizable.

  • Old Forest House: on the foundations of the headquarters of the von Meusebach.
