Mexico national under-20 football team

The Mexican national football team U-20 men's team is a selection of the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación, consisting of Mexican soccer players of the appropriate age groups.

She was the first national team of Mexico, who reached the final at seminar organized by FIFA competition. She succeeded at once in the 1977 inaugural U-20 World Cup in which her ​​a single victory enough ( 6-0 in the opening match against the hosts Tunisia ) in order to qualify for the final. After the semi-finals had found a winner against Brazil after extra time, a penalty shoot-out was required, which decided the Mexicans 5-3 in their favor. The final against the Soviet Union also ended in a draw (2-2 after extra time ) and required a time-consuming penalty shoot until the Mexicans had to admit defeat with 8:9.

The other Mexican selection teams that reached the finals of a FIFA tournament, could prevail against it: the first men's team at the Confederations Cup in 1999 against Brazil 4-3 and twice the U- 17 team at the World Championships in 2005 and 2011 with three: 0 against Brazil and a 2-0 win against Uruguay.
