Miah Persson

Miah Persson ( born May 27, 1969 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden) is a Swedish opera singer (soprano ).

She grew up in Hudiksvall and studied social sciences and law in Stockholm, before she began her vocal studies at the Kulturama and Operahögskolan in Stockholm. Her operatic debut was in 1998 as Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Confidencen in Solna.

As an ensemble member of the Royal Swedish National Opera she earned a wider repertoire and sang among others in operas by Mozart, Handel, Verdi, Bizet and Richard Strauss.

She sang at the leading opera houses in Paris, New York, London, Berlin, Brussels and Vienna and at the Salzburg Festival, the Proms, Glyndebourne Festival and the Festival d' Aix -en- Provence.

In addition, she also appeared as a concert singer with the major European and American orchestras, including with the London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on.

She is married to the tenor Jeremy Ovenden; the couple has a daughter and a son. The family lives in England.
