The Miami -Dade County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Miami. Together with parts of Broward County and Palm Beach County forms the eastern Miami -Dade County, the Miami metropolitan area.

Geography

History

The Dade County was formed in 1836. It was named after Major Francis L. Dade originally, who was killed in 1835 in the 2nd Seminole War. On 13 November 1997 has been amended by a referendum of the name in Miami- Dade County.
