Orange Bowl (1938-1995, 1999)
The Orange Bowl Stadium was an American Football Stadium in Miami, Florida, USA. It was the home of the college football team of the University of Miami, the Hurricanes. Until the opening of Dolphin Stadium in 1987 also played here the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. The Orange Bowl college football trophy that was actually named after this stadium will now be played in the new Dolphins Stadium ( since 1996).
In addition to football games here also concerts and other events took place. Up to 82,000 spectators could find a place.
In March 2008, the Orange Bowl Stadium was demolished to make way for a 37,000 -seat baseball stadium with a retractable roof space. There, from 2012 to the Miami Marlins play.
