Miccosukee

The Mikasuki ( Miccosukee ), officially the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, one of the three recognized by the U.S. government at the federal level tribes ( federally Recognized Tribes ) of the Seminole Indians and live in Florida. In Florida, the Seminole Tribe also lives of Florida, from which it split off in the 1950s. Most descendants of the Seminoles today belong to the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. They are originally from the Carolinas and North West Florida, then moved to the east and to the Seminole wars to South Florida in the Everglades. 1957 Mikasuki were recognized by the State of Florida.
