Micha Goldman

Micha Goldman (Hebrew מיכה גולדמן; born October 10, 1948 in Kfar Tabor ) is a former Israeli politician, Knesset member of the HaMa'arach and the Avodah from 1988 until 1999.

Life and work

Goldman studied self-government management at the University of Haifa and worked in agriculture. He was chairman of the council of Kfar Tavor, and the Board of Trustees of the University of Haifa. He was also a member of the Olympic Committee, the Board of the Local Government Bank and the Board of Rafael 1984-1988. In the 1988 elections was first put to the choice list of HaMa'arach. In the elections of 1992 he was placed on the election list of the Avodah and confirmed in his mandate. He was then appointed on 4 August 1992 as Deputy Minister of Education. When Shimon Peres formed a new government in November 1995 (after Rabin's assassination ), Goldman was again Deputy Minister of Education and held that post until 18 June 1996. After the 1996 elections, he lost his seat. But was chairman of the committee of inquiry in the case of the collapse of the bridge at the Maccabiah Games on 14 July 1997 and as Chairman of the Committee for Internal Affairs and the Environment. In the 1999 elections he was placed at number 35 of the electoral list of Jisra'el agate. Since the party won only 26 seats, he lost his seat.
