Michael Billington (actor)

Michael Billington ( born December 24, 1941 in Blackburn, England; † 3 June 2005 in Margate, Kent, England ) was a British actor.

Billington appeared in numerous feature films and television films, as in point 6 ( The Prisoner ) by Patrick McGoohan, The Professionals ( The Professionals ), Hart to Hart ( Hart to Hart) or Magnum ( Magnum, PI). His most famous role was that of Colonel Paul Foster in the science fiction series UFO. Between 1971 and 1974, he starred in the period drama The Onedin Line, the figure of Daniel Fogarty.

Billington was in the 1970s and 1980s as a prime candidate for the role of James Bond as a successor to George Lazenby ( On Her Majesty 's Secret Service ). After all, he played in 1977 in The Spy Who Loved Me, a small supporting role as Sergei Borsov, the lover of a spy Major Anya Amasova.

He lost his battle with cancer a few days before the death of his co-stars in the series " UFO " Ed Bishop.
