Michael Bleekemolen

Michael Bleekemolen ( born October 2, 1949 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch racing driver.

Career

Michael Bleekemolen was a Dutch Formula Super Vee and Formula Ford driver, when he came as a complete surprise to Formula 1 with a lot of Dutch sponsor money 1977. The use of the RAM Racing Team on a March 761 -Cosworth at the Grand Prix of the Netherlands was clearly too early to Bleekemolen but lacked any experience with the fast cars of Formula 1 The application was bound to fail, and Bleekemolen could not qualify.

1978 then drove the first Formula 3 Championship with rank 5 in the standings, when he got back mid-season with sponsor money a cockpit at ATS. The second attempt to grasp one foot in the formula failed. Only when the U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen he could even qualify for a Grand Prix, but retired with a defect in the oil pump from an early stage.

Bleekemolen was then on his ambitions in the highest class of international motorsport and focused on a consistent progress in the lower classes. He ran in 1979 for another three years in Formula 3 and could always classify in the European Championships in the leading group. As in, it became clear that will remain denied him a very great career, he drove sporadically sports car racing, pulled the mid-1980s, apart from occasional assignments in touring car racing, from active racing back and took the career of his sons Jeroen and Sebastiaan on. In 2011 he participated in a Mercedes -Benz SLS AMG part in the ADAC GT Masters.
