Michael Byrne (actor)
Michael Byrne ( born November 7, 1943 in London ) is a British film and television actor.
Byrne is best known for his roles as a Nazi characters. So he played, among others, the brutal SS officer Ernst Vogel in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In many other film productions, he appeared as a supporting actor, such as The Medusa, The Saint - The Saint, The attack and the war movies The Eagle has landed, and A Bridge Too Far.
In the television series Coronation Street he played the long-lost father of Gail Platt. In 2010, he was in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 a brief appearance as an aged Gellert Grindelwald. He is a good friend of American actor Carl Weathers.
