Michael Dugan (general)

Michael J. Dugan ( born February 22, 1937 in Albany, New York ) is a retired general of the U.S. Air Force, who was for a short time Chief of Staff of the Air Force and was discharged last in this capacity after only 79 days.

Life

Dugan graduated after school education and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and entered the U.S. Air Force after the end of 1958. During his military service, he completed postgraduate studies in business administration at the University of Colorado and graduated in 1972 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA ) from.

During his military career, he rose to become General and in 1987 first deputy chief of staff of the Air Force for Programs and Resources ( Deputy Chief of Staff, Programs and Resources ) and then in 1988 for planning and operations ( Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Operations ). Following in 1989, he was appointed commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE ), one of the so-called Major Commands of the Air Force.
