Michael East (athlete)

Michael East, Michael John "Mike" East ( born January 20, 1978 in Reading) is a former British middle distance runner, who specializes in the 1500 meter course.

In 2002 he won the bronze medal at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Vienna, for England starting gold at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and was sixth at the European Championships in Munich.

At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis he reached the semifinals, and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he finished sixth.

Then he took a knee problem to create, so that he had to retire at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki in the semifinals and at the European Championships 2006 in Gothenburg in the flow.

In 2007 he had to undergo two operations, and its funding by the National Lottery was deleted without warning.
