Michael James Foreman ( born March 29, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, USA ) is an American astronaut.
Training
Foreman attended by 1975 high school. He then studied at the U.S. Naval Academy air and space technology. In 1979, he earned a bachelor. The Naval Postgraduate School also awarded him in 1986 a master's degree in aeronautical engineering.
Astronauts activity
In June 1998, Foreman was selected as astronaut candidate by NASA.
STS -123
Foreman's first space flight took place in March 2008. The mission STS -123 brought a certain part of the Japanese Kibo module and Canadian Dextre robot hand to the International Space Station.
STS -129
Foreman was nominated in September 2008 for the Space Shuttle mission STS -129. He started on 16 November 2009 with the space shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station (ISS). On 19 November, he led, together with Robert Satcher by a spacewalk. Among other things, they installed a spare antenna, installed cables and lubricated moving parts. On 21 November 2009 he undertook together with Randy Bresnik another spacewalk.

Foreman is married and has three children.
