Michael Gahler

Michael Gahler ( born April 22, 1960 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a MEP for the CDU in Hesse of the European People's Party and Vice President of the Network European Movement Germany.

Life and education

Michael Gahler grew up in Frankfurt's Zeilsheim and attended until graduation in 1978, the Friedrich- Dessauer -Gymnasium in maximum. 1979 to 1980, he studied law in Mainz and Dijon before he served as a regular soldier of the Bundeswehr in Koblenz 1981-1987. His first state law examination in 1987 he put his second state law examination in 1990 from.

From 1990 to 1991 he attended as attaché at the Diplomatic Academy of the Foreign Ministry and put 1991, the career examination for the higher foreign service from. Policy

Since 1981 Gahler is a member of the CDU. He held various Board positions there. He was from 1994 to 2000 Deputy Chairman of the CDU Main-Taunus. Since 1978 he engaged in the Junge Union and was there until 1993 Urban Community, District Association and Bezirksvorsitzender.1990 to 1996, he worked as a member of the International Commission of the JU Germany in 1985. Since 1995 Gahler was a delegate to the EPP Congress. In 2010 he was nominated by the CDU elected Vice President of the Network European Movement Germany.
