Michael Glos

Michael Glos ( born December 14, 1944 in Brünnau ) is a German politician ( CSU).

He was from 2005 to 2009 Federal Minister of Economics and Technology and from 1993 to 2005 Chairman of the CSU party and First Deputy Chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Education and work

Post-high school Glos served an apprenticeship to the miller. In 1967 he passed the master's examination. In 1968 he took over the management of the parent grain mills and agricultural concern in Prichsenstadt.

Party race

Glos is since 1970 a member of the CSU and in 1972 was the founding chairman of the CSU local branch in Prichsenstadt. From 1975 to 1993 he was chairman of the CSU district association Kitzingen. Glos belongs since 1976 to the board of the CSU district association of Lower Franconia and was from 1993 to 2011 District Chairman. During this time he was also a member of the Executive Committee and State Executive Committee of the CSU.
