Michael Greenberg (writer)

Michael Greenberg ( born 1952 ) is an American writer.

Greenberg grew up as the son of a scrap metal dealer in New York City. After his studies he was for a time as an interpreter for Spanish and has also served in various odd jobs. Appeared in 2008 ( published by Other Press) Hurry Down Sunshine his work, in which he logged the mental illness of his daughter Sally in literary form. The German translation ( by Hans-Christian Oeser ) was published in 2009 under the title The day my daughter was mad at Hoffmann and Campe. In 2009 he published with Beg, Borrow, Steal an autobiographical work about being a writer living in the metropolis of New York. Under the title of begging, borrowing, stealing the German translation was published in 2010 by Hoffmann und Campe.

Greenberg is a columnist for the magazines The Times Literary Supplement, The Village Voice, The New York Review of Books and Boston Review.
