Michael Gwisdek

Michael Gwisdek ( born January 14, 1942 in Berlin - Weissensee) is a German actor and film director.

Life

Gwisdek graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch" in Berlin. The entry in his career he got through exposure to various theaters, first in Chemnitz, later at the Deutsches Theater and at the Volksbühne Berlin. At the same time Michael Gwisdek has starred in over 100 movies. In recent years, he appeared in both the crime scene as well as in movies (Good Bye, Lenin! ) In appearance. For his performances, he received several awards, including at the 1999 Berlinale Silver Bear for Best Actor in the film Nachtgestalten. 2000 Michael Gwisdek was also awarded the Ernst Lubitsch Prize.

In the late 1980s Gwisdek also began working as a film director. His first directorial effort, the historical film meeting in Travers, brought him 1990 at the 6th National film festival of the GDR the award for the best film and an invitation to the Cannes Film Festival.

Gwisdek lives in the Schorfheide and has two sons (Composer John Gwisdek and actor Robert Gwisdek ) with actress Corinna Harfouch, with whom he was married from 1985 to 2007. Since 2007, he is married to the writer Gabriela Gwisdek.
