Michael Hadschieff

Michael Florian Hadschieff ( born October 5, 1963 in Innsbruck, Tyrol ) is an Austrian former speed skater and Olympic gold medalist.

Life

Michael Hadschieff won the 1986 and 1989 World Cup of skaters over 1,500 meters and won at the Olympic Winter Games in 1988 by Calgary silver medal in the 10,000 m and the bronze in the 1,500 m. Over a distance of 10,000 m of Tyrol was then new world record, but this was exceeded shortly after the eventual winner, the Swede Tomas Gustafson. 1986 Hadschieff was chosen in Austria Sportsman of the Year. In 1994, he took leave of his sporting career after he finished his fourth Olympic Games in Lillehammer with two ninth places.
