Michael Hillardt

Michael Hillardt (Michael Howard "Mike" Hillardt; born January 22, 1961 in Brisbane ) is a former Australian middle-distance runner.

In the Commonwealth Games 1982 in Brisbane, he was fifth over 1500 meters. In each case the semi-finals he reached over 1,500 m at the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki over 800 m and at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

He had his greatest international success in the following year, when he won at the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris about 1500 m. About the same distance was inaugurated in 1986 at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh aft, at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1987 in Indianapolis and fifth in the 1987 World Championships in Rome seventh.

He was twice national champion over 800 m (1981, 1983) and eight times more than 1500 m (1980, 1982-1988 ).
