Michael Huffington

Michael Huffington ( born September 3, 1947 in Dallas, Texas) is an American politician. Between 1993 and 1995 he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Michael Huffington attended both public and private schools. Until 1970 he studied at Stanford University and then to 1972 at Harvard University. He then became director of a film production company. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. In the years 1986 and 1987 he worked for the Ministry of Defence. In the congressional elections of 1992, Huffington was in the 22nd electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Carlos Moorhead on January 3, 1993. Since he resigned in 1994 to another candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1995.

In 1994, Michael Huffington ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, he again worked in the film industry. Until 2000, he was co-owner of the company Crest Films Limited. Huffington was also in the following years the policy connected and is active in his party. He also writes newspaper articles on various topics. From 1986 to 1997 he was married to Arianna Huffington, the editor of the Internet newspaper The Huffington Post.
